QPR make move for Beckham as new owner Fernandes ups the ante on Twitter

Queens Park Rangers have opened discussions over a sensational swoop for David Beckham. New owner Tony Fernandes revealed his interest in the LA Galaxy midfielder on Twitter, posting: 'I think having someone like David [Beckham] in the club would be great. Was always in my thoughts. Let's see.' And it seems Fernandes's vision of seeing Beckham in a Rangers shirt is more than just a pipe dream. Loftus Road sources informed Sportsmail that there has already been initial contact between Rangers and Beckham's representatives over a potential move to west London. The former Manchester United midfielder's current MLS contract expires in November, from which time he will be able to join another club on a free transfer.
